Eric J Ashman, MD is a board-certified Neurologist at Central Peninsula Neurology. Dr. Ashman earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland in 1995.
He completed his Neurology residency and completed credentialed training in polysomnography/sleep medicine at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Ashman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
Dr. Naomi Arenson joined Central Peninsula Neurology in June 2024. She is a board-certified Neurologist, certified by the ABPN in both Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Arenson earned her MD from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL, in 2000, and completed her Neurology Residency and Neurophysiology Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in 2005, with specialized training in epilepsy management, including routine and prolonged video EEG, as well as the performance and interpretation of EMG/NCS.
Before joining Central Peninsula Neurology, Dr. Arenson practiced neurology in Wisconsin from 2008, specializing in both outpatient and inpatient care, and teaching medical students and family practice residents. Prior to Wisconsin, she worked in Michigan from 2005 to 2008.
Dr. Arenson’s practice focuses on outpatient general neurology, with expertise in epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, headaches, neuropathy, Parkinson’s disease, tremor, and stroke. She is skilled in performing EEG, EMG, VNS, and Botox treatments for chronic migraine. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society, and the American Medical Association.
On a more personal note, Dr. Arenson lived a year each in Bethel and Emmonak as a child and visited her parents in Haines and on Kodiak Island as an adult. She is looking forward to returning to Alaska! She has a son who attends college in Minneapolis, as well as a stepson and stepdaughter, and 2 cats and 1 dog. Her hobbies include hiking, biking, reading, and travel.
Dr. Annie McDonough joined Central Peninsula Neurology in September 2024. Dr. McDonough earned her MD from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, and completed her Neurology residency at UCSF. She brings expertise in the full spectrum of neurologic care, including treatment for headache, stroke, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy, offering both outpatient and inpatient services. Dr. McDonough has a passion for global health, having worked in Haiti and Kenya, and she is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to every patient.
In her free time, Dr. McDonough enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her two dogs. She is thrilled to be part of the Soldotna community and looks forward to serving you and your family at Central Peninsula Neurology.
